The People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in collaboration with the Foreign Ministry, organised a press briefing in Hanoi on Thursday to introduce the 2006 Sea Festival.

The festival will be held from April 11-15, 2006 to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment and construction of the province.

This will be the first festival to be held in the province so far that aims to introduce to Vietnamese and international friends Ba Ria-Vung Tau’s cultural and historical values, revolutionary tradition and potential and strength for economic development.

The festival will feature a diverse range of activities such as the 2006 Stone Sculpture Camp, a statue making contest, exhibitions on the socio-economic development achievements during the past 15 years and the 2006 Sea Festival Beauty Contest.
