Duyen Dang Viet Nam (Charming Vietnam), Thanh Nien’s annual series of fund-raising concerts and fashion shows, will be one of five events in Vietnam Digital Television Co. (VTC)’s New Year’s Eve special show.

Thanh Nien’s editor-in-chief Nguyen Cong Khe will talk about the success of the Charming Vietnam show held for the first time in Australia October-November to promote the country’s culture abroad.

He will reveal many other interesting tidbits relating to these shows which won rave reviews from Vietnamese expatriates and Australians who saw them.

The Ministry of Culture and Information recently included the charming Vietnam shows, whose proceeds go to a scholarship for poor students, in a list of the 10 most outstanding cultural events this year.

The VTC show, to be broadcast live from 8 p.m. to midnight December 31, will also feature four other cultural, social, and sporting events.

These include the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) gong culture.

The show will also have a program on young Vietnamese soldiers in the war, Sang Mai Tuoi 20.
