Ho Chi Minh City to open tourism festival

54 travel agents have registered to participate in Ho Chi Minh City's tourism festival, scheduled to take place in Dam Sen (Lotus Pond) Park on April 21-23, said a tourist executive.

Deputy Director of the municipal Tourist Department Le Nhut Tan has announced the plan, describing it as a traditional event to help businesses market new products with big promotions.

The festival will be full of traditional activities such as a replica floating market, characterised by small boats loaded with specialties. Floating markets, famous in folk songs by boatmen and women, are typical to the Mekong Delta region, which is crisscrossed with canals and rivers.

Participant businesses will come from 10 provinces and cities across the country.
