Southern metro to open bus service to Thailand

Saigon Passenger Coach Co. (Sapaco) is set to open a bus route from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok via Phnom Penh under an agreement reached with its Thai partner, an official said.

The company plans to put a fleet of quality buses manufactured by Saigon Bus into operation on the new route next month, Le Van Toi, director of Sapaco’s Transport and Tourism Service Enterprise, told Thanh Nien Saturday.

Sapaco’s bus service from HCMC to Phnom Penh, beginning January 1, will increase its fare by US$2 in accordance with an agreement with the Phnom Penh Department of Communications and Public Works.
