In Ho Chi Minh City, in line with the Nguyen Hue-Le Loi Flower Road on January 27 till 31, and the Tet Cake Festival on January 30, there are also door shows or window shows on other main streets organized by Saigontourist.
Door shows and window shows where passers-by can enjoy music programs through doors and windows of large buildings are very popular in European cities. This event took place in Vietnam in 2004 for the first time at Rex Hotel in downtown Ho Chi Minh City with drum performances. The number of people attracted by the event exceeded the organizers' expectation. This year, nine big hotels in the city center are taking part. So local people and foreigners will have the chance to enjoy a variety of activities.
The Phu Dong Music Band and Bong Sen Troupe will perform a program named "Trong Hoi Mung Xuan" or Spring's drum beats with Northern folk songs, Tay Son Drum Fest, Hue songs and so on at the Rex Hotel. On the section of Dong Khoi and Ngo Duc Ke streets of the Grand Hotel, there will be a concert, shaping dances, unicorn dances, pantomime, magic tricks, juggling and so on. At the Majestic Hotel, there will be flamenco, classical music, and more. A retelling of a myth with reproduced activities of ancient Saigon will be performed in front of the Continental Hotel by a group of 30, including 10 French visitors.
Other musical and cultural activities that are usually confined to theaters will appear in front of other big hotels like Caravelle, Bong Sen, Continental, Oscar, Kim Do, Sheraton Saigon, Palace and more.
