Banteay Meanchey is a Cambodian province. It is in the northwest of the country, and its capital is Serei Saophoan. In the Khmer language. There is an international border crossing to Thailand located within the province in Poipet town. Banteay Meanchey is one of the nine provinces that is part of the Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve.

Dry season runs from November to April on the back of the northeast monsoon. November to January are cooler while February to April are hot and dusty. November is the coolest month, April the hottest.
