85 cultural village centres to be built in 2006

"Nha Rong"- Tay Nguyen

The Ministry of Culture and Information expects to build 85 cultural centres in 2006 in disadvantaged villages and carry out a project to promote culture and information in Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands).

There have been 48 cultural centres in 25 provinces, built at an average cost of VND500 million. In 2006, the ministry will also complete and submit to the government a project on the planning of cultural and information institutions at grassroots levels until 2010.

It will study projects to develop cultural institutions in northern mountainous areas and to build a system of similar institutions in communes, precincts and villages in northern central and coastal areas.
