A new spring at Da Dia Rock Field

Plenty of rock fields trace the coastline of Vietnam, but perhaps the most outstanding is Da Dia in Phu Yen Province.

Located in An Ninh Dong Commune, Tuy An District, rocks at Da Dia are hexagon or circle and resemble dishes covering an area 50m by 200m long. Da Dia got its name from the particular shape of the rocks; Da means rock and Dia means dish.

Geological research in the area shows that the rocks are basaltic created by volcanoes nearly 200 million years ago. Adjacent to the Da Dia Rock Field is a 3km sandbank characterized by white, smooth and clean sand.

Visitors to the Da Dia Rock Field will sense peace of mind strolling along the sand banks and gazing at the natural environment. Apart from tourists, the Da Dia Rock Field is also a source of inspiration for photographers, painters and poets.

Nearby An Hai Resort, located 6km from the Da Dia Rock Field offers a full dining room specializing in seafood. Visitors will find the resort an inviting environment to stay overnight or to prepare further trips.

The Ministry of Culture and Information has recognized the Da Dia Rock Field as a National Natural Landscape. Phu Yen Province is presently calling for investors to construct a tourist site in the area.
