First shopping festival opens in Ho Chi Minh City

A new shopping festival was launched in Ho Chi Minh City from Dec.13-17, under the co-organisation of the Club of High-Quality Products, the city's Investment and Trade Promotion Centre and the Sai Gon Tiep Thi magazine.

The five-day festival features 180 businesses showcasing products like home appliances, garments, handicrafts, stationery, cosmetics and furniture.

Helping create festive spirit are circus performances, a village market installation, a pottery garden and actors impersonating famous statues.

Cultural activities include fashion shows and performances of chamber music, classic and modern dances and a traditional southern music show.

A gift pack of 40 companies' products will be auctioned off to support underprivileged children.
